New Year, same god
I was going to start my very first blog using big words to draw you in and elaborate analogies to keep you hooked but instead, I think I want to go the personable route (crazy considering we’ve just met, right?).
Take a deep breath. Drop your shoulders. I want to talk about the elephant in the room… 2026.
For many of us, the new year can feel overwhelming. We start thinking about self-help, new goals, and all the ways we’re supposed to “be better.” But I want you to understand something:
A change in the calendar doesn’t define you.
If 2025 wasn’t “your year,” that’s okay. You’re human. The same way you made mistakes last year, you’ll make mistakes this year too (old habits really do die hard). The difference is that this year, you’re going to learn from them. You’ll dust off your knees and try again — but this time, with God.
Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.”
But Proverbs 19:21 also reminds us, “Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.”
The bridge between these two verses is purpose.
To succeed in your plans and make this “your year,” you must first make it God’s year by seeking the purpose He’s placed in you. How to do that could be a whole blog post on its own, so I’ll keep it simple: pray, listen, and remember that your purpose is never just for you. It’s to help others, to speak life into them, and most importantly, to share the gospel.
So as this year unfolds, remember: you are not defined by last year’s mistakes. You simply have another opportunity to grow beyond them. Take time to discover your purpose and let it be a blessing to others.
With love,
your designer,
Lena <3
